About me

Reconnecting movement, mindset, and self-trust

Hi, I’m Beth, a movement therapist and pain specialist helping people feel stronger, more mobile, and more at ease in their bodies.

I’ve lived with chronic back pain for more than 20 years, so I know how exhausting it feels when your body doesn’t seem dependable. Like many of my clients, I spent years searching for someone to fix me, trying everything from physiotherapy to acupuncture, with only temporary relief.

Real change began when I stopped fighting my body and started listening to it. Through gentle, intelligent movement and a shift in mindset, I began to understand the protective patterns that were keeping me stuck in pain. Bit by bit, I found more ease, strength, and confidence.

That experience inspired me to help others do the same.

My Approach

Over the past decade, I’ve supported hundreds of people to reduce their pain, rebuild trust in their bodies, and return to the activities they love.

My work brings together:

☑️  Yoga therapy and Pilates to restore natural, balanced movement

☑️  Pain science and education to understand how the nervous system shapes pain

☑️  Mindfulness and self-compassion to calm overprotective responses and reduce tension

☑️  Behavioural and mindset tools to shift habits that quietly reinforce pain

This approach, which I call Core Patterns, helps people change how pain shows up in their lives by transforming the underlying movement and thought patterns that drive it.

Qualifications and Professional Background

I’m a fully qualified Yoga Therapist, Restore Your Core® teacher, and Somatic Coach.

I’ve completed extensive training in Pain Education, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for chronic pain, and trauma-informed approaches.

These combined disciplines allow me to support the whole person — body, mind, and nervous system — in a gentle, practical way.

A bit more of my story

My first memory of back pain was at 18, a dull ache that never quite went away. It wasn’t until a car accident at 30 that pain truly took over. I couldn’t sit or stand for long, struggled to sleep, and felt like my freedom had vanished overnight.

Nothing seemed to help. Every new practitioner had a different explanation, yet the pain persisted. Over time, I became more guarded in my movements, more fearful of making things worse.

When I was finally introduced to yoga therapy, something shifted. It gave me tools to move safely again, but it wasn’t until I learned more about pain that I started to trust my body again.

The key moment was when I changed how I related to pain. Instead of bracing against it, I began to work with my body.

That experience didn’t just change my life, it shaped my work. I now help others unravel their own protective patterns, find ease where there was tension, and rediscover trust in their body’s ability to heal and adapt.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If you’re feeling stuck in pain, you’re not alone — and despite what some people say, you don’t have to push through it.

Together, we can start gently shifting the patterns that hold you back and create more ease, confidence, and support from the inside out.
